088 installation

Hi,

were you running the install as administrator and can you send us some details to the OS you are running?

Thanks
Markus

Yes, admin. Win-7 32 bit. The .tox registry key exists.

(No problem for me on Win-7 64-bit machine.)

Thx Russ, investigating this issue…

Just to flag the fact that only the latest experimental build will work with the 088 key.
this means I will have to use two, possibly three (if I need to switch to 32bit too) pro licenses on the one machine in order to deal with compatibility issues in works that need older versions of touch. for example, I still need to use 077 11740 because my other programs’ use of shared memory broke when the header was changed.

Is it really necessary to limit the keys in this way? Having four Pro licenses represents a substantial investment in touch and its culture. At the moment I’m not financially able to upgrade all of my licenses immediately but I’d like to be able to use just one license per each of the two main machines I use.

I know you don’t deliberately do this to annoy people, I’m curious t know why it has to be that way and if there’s a plan to remove this restriction once the beta is over.

I’m going to have to carefully juggle licenses an probably accidentally generate more work for Ben (who seems to be the suffering license captain for this release).

cheers,
Rod.
