Hi!
While Im always a fan of fuzzy search etc, I think the new OP create dialog works worse than before, here is why:
Say I want to create an in TOP.
when I press tab to open the dialog, press tab multiple times to get to Tops, then write 'in’and press enter, I am done in 088.
in 099, it also finds other tops containing the letters i and n. So quite a lot and on enter it will create the first one in the list that is a match.
(otherwise I’m really really happy with 099)
cheers!
Agreed. I like the feature though. Sometimes you can’t remember the name of the op you are looking for and highlighting everything that contains your search term would be useful in that case.
Ideally there would be a way to easily switch between the two modes. Maybe something like a toggle switch to the right of the search field.
good idea, yes I see that it has its advantages.
But for an experienced user, one gets a little slower and thats a pitty. So +1 for a switch
+2
One could also keep the highighting of 099 + the selection (kind of in the backround) as in 088 so pressing enter would behave as before. That might be confusing for new new users though
Fuzzy search is really nice but I agree that it sometimes clashes with the memorized keystrokes for commonly-added OPs. I like the toggle idea, or maybe a hotkey (i.e. hold shift/etc while typing if you want fuzzy).
Semi-related: Anyone notice that the OP Create dialog box sometimes pops up all black? I submitted a bug report about it already, but am wondering if it’s just me. It usually happens when I am working on a network that is particularly taxing on the system (running under 30fps in editor).
That never happend to me (altough I worked networks that made my PC crawl)
Is the black dialog happening in 099 or 088?
Cheers
Markus
happened in 099 for me and black parameter dialogs too.
