2020 Official Update
Congratulations Derivative!! This is a very exciting Official build!!!
Holy molly, I’ve been waiting for some of these updates for a very long time.
I’m very excited about it.
Massive thanks!

Awesome!
Could I please get a link to the ffmpeg build for this release?
Would a recompiled ffmpeg libav set function through the next set of releases, in theory?
Bruce
Hey, it’s the same branch as the 2018.40000 series, just with DPX support enabled. I’ve updated the docs here:
I don’t expect to be changing FFmpeg for the 2020.20000 series. Likely we’ll upgrade to a newer one for 2020.40000 though.
Thanks Malcolm. What environments do you use? Anything special like cygwin stuff?
Do you see any problem with my sharing a version with ProRes enabled?
I cross compile using ubuntu using this script:
GitHub - rdp/ffmpeg-windows-build-helpers: Helper script for cross compiling some media tools for windows, like customizable ffmpeg.exe (with or without non-free components, etc), and some other bonuses like mplayer, mp4box, mxf, etc..
I know I would certainly not post binaries that work with ProRes. Apple isn’t known to be a friendly company about things like that. NotchLC seems to be the way to go for that type of codec imo.
Yeah, we’re moving to NotchLC for files from professionals, but it’s really awkward to review etc
