Hi Guys,
The virtual background TOP is giving me an error “Failed to load feature: there is no model with dependencies that match this system” despite me having the NVidia broadcast stuff all installed correctly. It’s working fine in Notch so I’m assuming this is an issue on the TouchDesigner side.
My build is 2023.12230. Also I appreciate 5090s are like gold dust at the moment so happy to jump on a call to walk through if needed.

Hi @Ennui ,
This TOP uses the AI Green Screening module from the Nvidia Maxine Video Effects engine and requires a 20, 30 or 40 series Nvidia RTX card to operate. (Nvidia Background TOP - TouchDesigner Documentation )
Currently the 50 series cards are not yet supported.
Sorry for the confusion there. Unfortunately the way the Nvidia Maxine library works is that they have specific AI models for each generation of graphics card and the models are not backwards compatible i.e. the 50xx series can’t run the 40xx models. We ran into this same problem when the 40xx series cards were first released as well.
This issue affects the Nvidia Background, Denoise, Upscale, Body Track and Face Track nodes.
We have been talking with Nvidia about an update plan, but haven’t …
cheers
Markus

Hi Markus,
I think they just released it recently but it’s available now. I’ll use a notch block for now.
any update on this? Just got a 5090 laptop and would reallylike to start using the upscale TOP
Thanks in advance for looking into this.

If you really want to use it , you can use NVIDIA Broadcast workaround for it.
like Webcam (NVIDIA Broadcast) → Threshold TOP for aphla layer.
