Here is my setup:
- Orbbec Femto Bolt
- TouchDesigner 2025.32050
- Windows 11 / 5090 / i9
- My TouchDesigner application uses Color, Skeletal, Player Index, and Depth images using the Kinect Azure TOP
- Orbbec Femto Bolt Firmware Version: 1.1.3
- Orbbec SDK Version: 1.10.27
- GeForce Game Ready Driver 610.47
Notes:
- On all other machines I’ve tried (with 5080 and 4090 GPUs), I am getting smooth, freeze-free color image data when running my application.
- Our machine on site at install (with the 5090) is the only machine getting momentary freezes/stalls on the color image from the Kinect Azure TOP.
- While the color image is frozen, the rest of my application is still 60FPS
- The issue is not present on the OrbbecViewer. We have tried updating device firmware
- The issue potentially seems to occur more often when I am loading resources like FBX meshes or creating animations
- The “freeze” lasts for 1-2 seconds, and will hang on that single frame until it starts updating normally again afterwards. There is no lag before/after.
- Before we updated our device firmware, the color image would freeze and then flash a white frame before resuming. After the firmware update, the white flash was gone, but the freeze remained.
- The higher the resolution of the “Color Resolution”, the more frequently it freezes. Setting it to 720p freezes significantly less than 4K.
