3D SOP to Ponk?

Hi,
I’m playing with the Ponk plugin to stream out a 2d sop vertices data into MadLaser.
How to fake a 3d into 2d sop?
Like rotating a box, then transform, scaleZ =0, so this box will looks like rotating, but is flat?
I tryied many ways, but the plugin still crashin.
It’s a simple example, but with powerful potential for more complex fake 3d laser animations using the two software toghether.
I know, maybe Laser out op has not this problem, but for complex surfaces to map, I’ve ever passed the td out into madmapper… and the dispatcher is great.

this might help:

scriptSOP to simulate camera

I had meant to add this one here. A workflow with almost all CHOPs (except getting at the projection matrix still required a script CHOP) Otherwise this uses the Transform CHOP to multiply transform and projection matrix and another Transform CHOP to multiply the points with the resulting matrix. Scales much better then the pure script version and nicely shows some usage of the Transform CHOP. cameraToSOPwithCHOP.tox (3.4 KB) Cheers Markus

Thanks snaut, really cool technique! I’m learning a lot from this example.
it’s exactly what i was looking for.
unfortunatly, the ponk plugin still crash when i connect as the scriptSop as the chopto1 to him.
if you know, may you explain how to achieve it working with it?

I don’t have experience with the plugin. Best to check with the developer of the plugin.
