Hi,
I have to set up an interactive installation with 4 1920x1080 Screens in a single line with one output signal.
I have read in the wiki, that the GTX 680 is a possible way, cause it has 4 different outputs. But I´m not sure, if the screens will support the variety of connectors from this card. (HDMI, Displayport and 2 DVIs to get all the 4 outputs to work).
So I thought about using the Matrox Dual Head 2 Go to adress possible issues with the connections. Maybe I could use the two DVI Ports native and the one Display Port with a Dual Head to Go to get 2 more DVI Outputs.
Has anybody experiences with running 4 Screens as Output (so no TD Interface) with the GTX 680 and the needed Output Setup in TD? Bounds Area Mode in Window Comp works perfect on my 2 screens
… or do you have other recommendations to run a 4 screen installation with TD?
thanks a lot for your suggestions and sharing your experience.

Couple things to keep in mind, you’ll want to make all your display outputs exactly the same, otherwise you’ll get artifacts like tearing and stuttering. So having 2 outputs on a Matrox and 2 native won’t yield ideal results.
An option would be to use 2 Matrox dual heads to get your 4 outputs, that way you’d be outputting the same 2x HD resolution to the two outputs you’re using (as opposed to your setup with would be a 2x HD output and 2x 1920x1080 outputs). But for a cheaper solution, I’d look into using flips and adapters to get to dvi, but I’m not 100% sure whether you’ll need active or passive adapters. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.
thanks for the fast answer.
I think I will try the setup with the GTX 680 and use the 2 DVI Ports with 2 Dual Heads to go…
Hope that the differences between the two DVI Ports doesen´t screw it up. One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D - unless there are other suggestions and things I have to consider…
As there is no native DVI Input in the Dual Head 2 Go I will have to use the DVI Out of the GTX 680 with an VGA Adapter to get the signal into the Dual Head 2 Go Digital. - The ohter versions of the DualHead2 Go have “only” Display Port Input - and on the GTX 680 there is only one Display port…
Any other suggestions are really welcome
Will keep you informed about how things are working out.
br,
Felix
How things worked out:
I used the EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW 4096MB GDDR5, DVI, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort, 4-way SLI Ready Graphics Card with just adapters all to hdmi.
I didn´t had the need for the matrox dual head 2 go. The rendering worked fine with FTE077.
