A quick question RE: Licensing

Hello everyone, I have a quick newbie question regarding purchasing a license!

I am planning to buy a commercial license, but I am uncertain whether I should wait until my new computer is delivered, or can I use the commercial license on my current laptop until I get the new one and then transfer it?
