Just upgraded to Ableton11 and the latest TD (2021.13610). The install of tdabletone succeeds. The folders are in the right places. But no matter what, when you go to add the touchdesigner control surface in preferences, it just doesn’t show up.
Are you using the TDAbletonBeta package in the Palette of 2021.13610. Only the beta component supports Live11.
Also make sure you’ve selected the correct “Ableton Live Install” in the parameters when you install.
April of 2022 here on a Mac. If you are trying to install TDAbleton into Ableton 11 and the “TouchDesigner” control surface isn’t showing up. Instead of waiting hours like I did trouble shooting. Start from scratch in Ableton i.e. remove the script. Open “the TDAbletonBeta package in the Palette of 2021.13610” or newer version of TD. go to the panel of the component under utilities and select the “Ableton 11 suite app” next to the Ableton Live install. On a Mac at least, it auto populates all the correct locations. With live closed pause “install”. Open live and the script is now showing in the control surface selections. It even adds the touchDesigner folder to your places on the left side bar! I hope this saves you some time!
Doing the install process that Quasi describes is the first thing to try if you have problems seeing the control surface.
