Maybe i’ve missed how this can be done, but I’d love to be able to take the current values from a parameter and add them as a keyframe. Now i have to either type all the parameter values manually into the animation, or eyeball it with my mouse. I’d like to have it like in blender where you click keyframe, it makes a keyframe then you move to a different part of the timeline and adjust your value and click keyframe again. This would make animation so much more intuitive and quicker.
My workflow is to let the animation play and press CMD+K (or CTRL+K) at the spots where I want keyframes to happen. Then adjust them to the desired values using the Y snapping setting at the top of the animation editor (usually set to 1 or 0.1).
I use expressions to link all of my animation curves to the animation editor with something like:
op(‘animation/out’)[‘curve1’]
So I’m not usually working on these values in the parameter window but dragging keyframes up and down if that makes sense.
But yes - it would be more intuitive if it were like every editing software’s keyframer 100%
Yeah that’s what my usual approach is now, but for a project i’m working on i’d like to manipulate the camera in the camera node viewer and then immediately turn it into a keyframe. Since flying around the camera changes t[xyz], r[xyz] and p[xyz] it’s a bit of a pain to manually do it.
Adding another voice wishing for this feature. I’m new to the animation comp, so if I’m somehow missing something that is already there, I would love to know to that too
You can use the camera viewport comp from the pallette to do exactly this. As demonstrated here: https://youtu.be/a77tWHOW008
I see no mention of keyframes–or of the animation comp–-at all in that video. Am I missing something?
True, while this doesn’t use the animation comp, it is possible to add camera positions with the click of a button and sequence them like OP wanted. It can be found under the presets tab of the camera viewport comp.
