Any way to export .obj?

Hi everyone. Anybody know if it’s possible to get geometry and a camera out of TD? I am trying to get geometry from my TD scene into an external renderer (octane render) I hope to use nodes in TD to achieve some motion-graphics-style animation and render it all nice in Octane.

If you are curious as to why, I am trying to use TD as an animation package to keep me sharp in my unfortunate but temporary absence from making music visuals. I want TD to be my master program. I know it’s not made for using it like 3dsmax, but I figure if I can make it work for me where it’s not supposed to, then I can have an even better command of it for music-viz. :ugeek:

Hi.
A bit of a limited work around, but for geometry, you could save it out as ‘.bgeo’ or ‘.bclassic’ and then use a free version of Houdini from Side Effects Software to convert it to an .obj file.
However, this will only save one SOP at a time, and will not save animation, camera positions etc.

Rob.

Thanks Rob, guess it’s not too practical.

Perhaps I will be able to figure it out one day by using python to get geometry along with animation and camera movements out of TD.
