Audio Amp Modulation

I’ve just made a component that takes the audio from an input, samples it and then processes it in order for it modulate graphic parameters relating to its amplitude. I think I’ve got a pretty good result but I thought maybe someone might have some feedback or a better way. Below is the project if anyone has some time to take a look.

thanks

one thing that is worth trying is to reduce the sample rate of the audio radically.
unless you are processing fine-grained audio spectra etc., a coarser sample should go much faster.

Thanks Rod, In the above file I was resampling the audio at 60 fps using the resample chop which did work allright. Then later on I realized that I would be able to get even better results if I could get the RMS value from the audio. I did a search and found the analyze chop which gives a much better result. I also found the lag chop works better than the filter chop to slow down the data a bit (especially the down slope of a peak). I’ll post the new version on the components forum for anyone to use.

cheers
Keith

yay ! I forgot to mention the analyze chop.

I’m still in the throes of influenza. (00)
