I cannot get ASIO working in the Audio Device Out CHOP. Every ASIO driver on my system fails the same way, while the same hardware works fine in other audio software.

Interfaces tested: Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (1st gen, driver 4.150.0.432), Zoom LiveTrak L-8, ASIO4ALL v2
What happens
The Audio Device Out CHOP lists all installed ASIO drivers correctly in the Device menu. When I select any of them, no error appears immediately. After a few seconds, these warnings appear:
Warning: Unknown Device. Reverting to default.
Warning: Audio driver not detected: ASIO2. Unable to initialize ASIO.: No device is connected to the PC.
Audio output stops completely. Switching Driver back to “default” restores sound immediately.
What I have already tried

Three different ASIO drivers (Focusrite USB, Zoom L-8, ASIO4ALL) — identical error every time

Reinstalled the audio interface driver and rebooted

Changed the Windows default playback device away from the interface, to make sure Windows was not holding it

Updated TouchDesigner from 2023.12370 to 2025.33070 — no change

Ran TouchDesigner as Administrator — no change

Verified the hardware works: the Zoom L-8 runs correctly over ASIO in Ableton Live on the same machine, right before and after testing in TouchDesigner
Why this matters
I’m working on a real-time interactive audio project where latency matters. With the default driver the lowest stable buffer is 50 ms, which is too high for responsive playback. ASIO would bring this down significantly.
Question
Since three unrelated ASIO drivers produce the exact same message, and the hardware is confirmed working in another host, this looks like something between TouchDesigner and the system rather than a driver fault. Has anyone seen this, and is there a known cause or workaround?
