it seems that when you rename something, all sorts of occurrences of that name may be renamed if you say “Yes to All” whenever you’re asked. Your alternative is to go through each occurrence and decide whether or not it needs renaming.
It’s been driving me nuts, since the user is asked to do something that the computer should do: understand if a name is referring to the object you’re changing or not (and like noted elsewhere, often the actual references you want changed aren’t even considered).
