Im importing an FBX file (geometry and camera) from 3DS Max. Both come in, however the camera’s orientation and direction is waaay off. Im exporting from Max 2014 with FBX exporter version 2013.1. Any ideas?
It’s unlikely it a version issue. Does the camera have animation applied to it in Max that isn’t coming across, or does it have a static position/orientation? Does it have a lookat?
There’s no animation or LookAt to the Standard Camera, perhaps this is a scaling issue?
Potentially, but everything should be coming in with the same scale.
I’ve always had similar probs going between Houdini and Touch. Maybe something similar would work for Max
Found a reference here to there being 90degree difference in the exporter

So in the Touch importer-generated cam_convertedtoTD Camera OP by changing ry to 0 from -90 the camera then matches what was in the original.
Pls find example toe and fbx attached showing similar result exporting FBX from Houdini 15 (FBX201400 / FBX 7.4) into Touch v58910.
