It seems there is no direct way to manage camera settings (options) using TD. The window popups that open up when choosing something from options par are not only completely disconnected from TD interface, they stall the TD thread, which in turn allows no feedback upon adjusting it:
Pretty much any other software on windows that has access to webcams allows you to adjust such options on the fly. (Nvidia Broadcast for instance displays the same exact menu, but updates on the fly)
And the changes in the “device output” menu do not have any affect in my case, instead reverting back to whatever is the default.
Additionally, the option that (I assume) is more preferable and modern - Media Foundation, does not provide access to any options at all.
I may be missing a native way to overcome these issues, in which case this topic is more of a call for help and tips.
If not, then please please consider tightening the integration of generic webcams into TD.
I can try and make the argument stronger by reminding that TD is an extremely essential and accessible toolkit for DIY enthusiasts and students on a budget, which means that despite vast support for expensive and advanced cameras, lots of users and use cases are still dealing with generic webcams.
