BG removal flickering issue

Hello, I’m going through Elburz’s tutorial on RTX BG removal and AR filters and have all his settings mimicked, but it’s casting this black flickering cloudy mess over my face. I’m using Azure Kinect, Nvidia broadcast, RTX 3060, Intel Core i5 12400F 6 Core, Intel B660 Chipset, & the latest Nvidia driver. Any suggestions for a potential solution? bg removal and AR.2.toe (3.8 KB)

Hi @CarolynTariq,

I might be seeing a different but still unexpected result, could you post an image for us to understand your particular issue?

We are looking at the issue.

cheers

@CarolynTariq Could you mention which TouchDesigner build you are having trouble with when posting bugs? There was an issue with Nvidia Background TOP a few builds ago which you might be using. It has been fixed in the latest builds
Official 2022.25320 and Experimental 2023.11220

Hi @CarolynTariq,

the other thing to note is a comment in the wiki on this operator:

Tip: The AI model is tuned for a single person sitting in front of a webcam. Videos including full body images, multiple people or indirect camera angles may not perform well.

For example when rotating smiley over a bg image I can clearly see the black blobs all over it:

I was using Experimental 2023.10130 and Official 2022.24200. After trying with the suggested builds and correcting my Kinect angle it’s definitely improved.
It’s still not a clean bg wipe but it’s vastly improved. Thank you @ben and @snaut for helping me

I can confirm that the 2023.10130 build you are using does have the bug with the Nvidia Background TOP. Please update to 2023.11220 and you will find it is fixed. Download here Releases | Derivative

As for Official build, I do not recommend using 2022.24200, it was the first released build and we have fixed 100s of issues in Official since then. Download the latest Official from here Download | Derivative
