Bluefish Epoch 4 SDI sdk

I was wondering if anyone has ported over any 3rd party SDI cards outside Nvidia.

I was looking at bluefish, they are heavily supported by Nvidia, and have the gpudirecttovideo driver for direct (and faster) access straight to Nvidia cards. The Nvidia line of SDI is obosolete in it I/O, and they plan to phase it out with the Kepler line.

Im looking into the feasibility of trying to get the bluefish SDK to talk from the Nvidia card to a TD SDI I/O TOP.

Anyone have any insight on this?

thanks

Nick

Maybe I can modify this question.

Does anyone know if the CUDA api with touch designer should interface with the pixel buffer and cuda buffer object shared memory between the bluefish card and the Nvidida card?

I know that the blackmagic card does the same thing, and is supported now, wondering if there is anything more involved. The only other issue seems to be porting over the C++ SDK from the hardware developer.

Anyone have any experience with issues like this?

I don’t have the answer to your CUDA questions (but will ask), however, for 3rd party SDI cards the Blackmagic (as you mentioned) and Datapath are other great options. They work through Video In TOP, not the SDI In TOP.

This is the new tech he is referring to:

developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-gpu … 4%A2-video

I would definitely like to see this implemented as well, it may fix all of the latency issues we have with the blackmagic stuff
