Bug Report: Unable to trigger Camera Permissions on macOS

Dear Derivative Support Team,

I am writing to report a persistent issue regarding camera permissions on macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 using the M1 Apple Silicon build of TouchDesigner.

System Specifications:

  • Hardware: MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)

  • OS: macOS Sequoia 15.6.1

  • TouchDesigner Version: 2025.32280 (arm64)

The Issue:

  1. In the Video Device In TOP (and MediaPipe component), the “FaceTime HD Camera” is correctly listed in the dropdown menu.

  2. However, selecting it results in an error/black screen.

  3. TouchDesigner does not appear in the macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera list, indicating the permission request was never successfully registered by the OS.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken (All Failed): I have attempted the following steps multiple times with no success:

  • Fresh installation of TouchDesigner (downloaded today from the official site).

  • Full uninstallation (moving to Trash) and reinstallation.

  • Attempted to force a permission reset via Terminal using: tccutil reset Camera ca.derivative.TouchDesigner

  • Attempted a global reset using: tccutil reset Camera

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards
Kelly
