camera panel not active?

This is probably user error as I am at baby steps with touch however when I set up the simplest scene, with geom,light and camera, the camera is very close to the object (it fills the window of itself and the Render TOP) and no editing values of values in the xform panel have any influence.

for reference i am using 088 62610 (64 bit) with an Educational license.

Any clues?

ok. What I learnt is that if you collect multiple COMP’s (the camera, geom and light) the process doesn’t work as i expected.

If you grab the arcBallCamera from the Tools section of the palette, it has a good example of how to properly setup the most basic rendering scene.

What this component does for you is add some extra camera functionality so you can go up to the arcBallCamera component, make the “Viewer Active” and then you can interact with the camera to change the position of the rendered output.
