If I create a file using pro can I run it as is with FTE commercial (I’m assuming I can’t edit it properly with it otherwise I don’t see why the price diff)?

Yes, except for the Pro only nodes (clipblender for example), which won’t work. They’ll either output nothing or act as if they are a Null CHOP.
