Can only see shortcut (alias?) TD icon in Applications folder

Hi,

I’m a noob and have just sorted out TD on a Macbook Pro M5 Max however the TD icon in the Applications folder is an alias, denoted by the black arrow in white circle on the lower left corner of the TD icon. When I click the icon in the dock it keeps going through the verifying section before opening the application.

Have I installed TD correctly as this seems a bit odd to me?

Thank you,

Lee.

Yes, that does seem odd. Where does the shortcut points to? Did it get installed in the Downloads directory and the shortcut was created in Applications?

Usually there’s a verification when opening TD For the first time, so that part seems normal.

Hi Selina,

Just learned that the little arrows signify the icon as being an alias, so how do I get the true icon there, do you know? I will also edit my original OP note to reflect this.

Try using the Get Info dialog to see where the actual path is, and then go to that path and copy it directly to the /Applications directory. Or try reinstalling from the .dmg

Hi, I figured it out with your advice, thank you.

Was having the same issue with other recently installed apps too. I deleted them all, cleaned my system and re-downloaded all of their installers. Instead of dragging the app icons to the Applications folder in the dock I dragged them over to the Applications directory window instead, they all then installed correctly.

Everything is now running as it should. Thank you so much Selina.
