Can't open MIDI interface (TD on Macintosh)

Hello,

I am following a tutorial on YouTube about creating a simple synthesizer.
I’m using TouchDesigner on a Macintosh. I am able to use a MIDI controller with other software.

MIDI In CHOP says “Warning: could not open the MIDI interface: (/project1/midiin1)”
Device Table is set to “/local/midi/device”

Any advice is appreciated.

That’s likely because you haven’t set up the Midi device yet.

Take a look under Dialogs>Midi Device Mapper.

I don’t know what the shortcut is on Mac but on Windows its Alt+D (don’t know if that helps or not)

Edit: if your device is not specifically listed expect to do a full manual mapping. My Korg NanoControl 2 does not like the NanoControl mapping TD provides. This will vary by device/manufacturer.
