Chroma Key TOP - Isolating specific colors

I am interested into isolating a specific color, for example Yellow and exclude all the others in order to blob track the color. For this operation I’d like to use a webcam.

I have been sometimes able to isolate a specific color but I felt it was a kind of random and lucky coincidence. Most of the times I think I isolated a color but in the end another is still visible.

Since the goal is becoming able to isolate the specific color in whatever location with different light conditions, I wanted to ask which are the best practice for isolating a color through the Chroma Key TOP, or whatever TOP suits better for this operation.

Good and consistent lighting is a must if you need to do chroma keying.
