Was wondering if there was any commenting system inside of Touch? Something similar to Max/MSP comments where I can just drop them on the background throughout my project as little notes, would be great (as I’m used to doing that in Max). I’ve been using enlarged Text TOP’s currently just to leave myself little land mine comments, which isn’t the end of the world.
I would use Text DATs instead of TOPs as they are easier to edit and won’t take up texture memory. you can also RMB->Edit Comment to add comments to individual nodes. /perform & /local are commented by default and there’s a little balloon over the node to indicate that.
I agree it would be nice to be able to leave info on the empty workspace but max and PS don’t have the zooming thing going on like in touch so touch would be messier in deciding which things to zoom and not etc.
you know how, when we set up ramp keys and exports, touch automagically docks a table DAT to the operator? Maybe some form of commenting that docks a text dat to the OP that holds the comment might be good and consistent with other use of DATs so far. then it might be possible to make the coment hover around the 'OP tile in some way that can be packed away if it’s annoying but also in-your-face when you need ‘landmines’.
It seems like you could just apply the same zooming and scaling rules that are used for everything else in networks (including Text DATs). It could even be done by having a flag/setting on Text DATs that makes them show up in the network with a simple dotted outline instead of the normal *OP box.
