Hello !
I just ran into that issue this afternoon and I think it s worth sharing
I hooked a PCI Intensity Pro BlackMagic with HDMI input to my computer
Once drivers installed and latest DirectX updated
I tried to adjust the parameters of my BLackmagic input through the Options > Device Menu shortcut in Touch. Every modification led to a BlueScreen
I then tried to do it from vvvv (see capture)
and managed to change the input parameters without BlueScreen
the cool part is that once it s set through vvvv Menu shortcut
it works in Touchdesigner !
Any hints or ideas of where the BlueScreen come from ?
Have a great day,
From the text it seems VVVV is using the WDM, it’s using a different method to talk to the BM cards than we are (if you are choosing the blackmagic library from the menu). The equivalent of their WDM would be our DirectShow.
I’ve heard the 10.0 and 10.1 blackmagic drivers tend to bluescreen, from reports on their forums.
Apparently the 9.x series are more stable, so maybe you can try those?
I’ve heard the upcoming 10.1.1 drivers fix the bluescreen issue.
Where did you hear that, Malcolm? As you know, we got whacked by the 10.x blue screens.
I’ve also heard that 10.1.1 helps dramatically with input and output latency, and fanfare allows full duplex operation on the newer cards (4K Extreme, Studio stuff).

Blackmagic told me it should fix the bluescreens. 10.1.1 seems to be available now.
