Count

I was wondering if there is a way to count the change of multiple chops

Actually I have null 1(chop) if it reaches 0 then I would like to count 1, when null 2 reaches 0 then count 2 and so on. Is there a way to do it?

best regards

What would you do if null1 reaches 0 multiple times before null2 does? would you still increment the count?

Hi elburz How are u?

Each null is going to reach 0 Just one time. So i would not increment the Count . ( i am using this to control a switcher of text to the user)

Best regards

mgebste,

One way to tackle this problem is to think about using execute DATs to just add one to your target value. You can do this with a value held in CHOP, a DAT, or even in storage.

In this example you can see the CHOP execute does this addition process first by finding the existing value in each target, then adding one.

There are three timers total, each timer triggers the next in line to count down to 0. Once the null hits 0, the script runs.

Hey,

this is a very nice CHOP “problem”.

One way would be to merge all the channels and feed them into a Count CHOP. Set the Count CHOP “On to Off” Parameter to Increase Count and follow the whole thing up with a math CHOP which you use to add up all the channels.

Another way would just use math CHOPs. Feed all three null CHOPs into the Math and inverse their range. Next use the integer parameter to Floor the values and follow this up by a Math CHOP which adds all channels.

Other good CHOPs to look at for this are the Logic (combine Channels “AND” or Pre Channel Radio operations) and Fan CHOP (fan in option)

Of course it’s all very dependent on what the behaviour of the incoming channels are. Do they stick at 0 or do they loop? Often these things determine which CHOP is best suitable for the task.

I’m using Matthews file as a starting point.
