Crash in TouchDesigner (2023.1200) Due to C++ File – Unable to Reopen Project

I am encountering a recurring crash in TouchDesigner when working with a specific C++ file. The crash happens suddenly during execution, and after it occurs, I am unable to reopen the file. I am currently using TouchDesigner version 2023.1200.

Here is some additional information that might help:

The crash happens unexpectedly during use, and the file becomes inaccessible afterward.
I am using TouchDesigner version 2023.1200 on a system with [OS], [GPU], and [CPU].
I’ve attached any available crash logs or relevant code snippets for your review. I would really appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue, as I haven’t been able to find a solution on my own.

The crash is happening inside the SlamtecCHOP dll so I can’t tell what specifically is causing the issue and unfortunately we can’t really debug 3rd party plugins. I see that you’ve already posted to their issues page, so hopefully the developer there can respond to you.

When you say the file becomes inaccessible afterwards, does that mean the toe file is failing to load somehow? Do you get an error on load?

When you get the crash, it is also saving a version of your file with CrashAutoSave in the name. If you try loading this file it will have all of the nodes disabled so that you can open it safely. To make the file run again, you need to re-save that without the CrashAutoSave in the name.
