Hi All,
I stumbled upon this software today online: codeweavers.com/products/crossover-mac/
I was wondering if anybody has successfully ran TD on OSX with it? Or if it will work at all?
Cheers,

I’m afraid you need to swallow your OSX pride and just run bootcamp
I personally despise apple products - Its for a client running TD in bootcamp, and having issues all over the show. She is a devout apple fan and suspected this might be an easier route for her.
Besides! If it did work, it would be much more efficient than running a separate partition for those who are of the apple persuasion…
Don’t think it’ll work. Someone recently tried Parallels with no luck.
If you’re having trouble with Bootcamp then you’ll certainly have even more trouble with a virtual machine like crossover or parallels.
On Bootcamp ensure that your graphics drivers are downloaded from nVidias website, not the ones from the Bootcamp CD or from Apples website.
I haven’t encountered any problems running TD in bootcamp on a 2013 macbook pro retina. If it’s one of the non-retina macbooks it’s likely that the graphics card isn’t going to be supported.
Oh ya, using bootcamp is definitely smooth.
Tetkin, should work on non-retinas now too. I’m using a 2012 Macbook Air and TouchDesigner runs and is totally workable for small things.
Thanks for the advice guys!
I have a feeling that the client installed the graphics drivers through the apple site and not NVIDIA, it is last years 15 inch retina i believe so definitely has the capacity to run well.
More specifically, the main issues seem to be while running Ableton at the same time, and sending OSC information from Ableton to the TD project for controlling projected graphics.
I have a feeling there could be issues on the ableton side as well… will suggest uninstalling and re installing NVIDIA drivers form the site and see if the problems persist!
O.
Whats the issue with OSC?
Should be pretty easy to send over UDP. Forum member Keith, also made a really great Max for live plugin for Ableton that analyzes audio and spits out OSC over UDP that you can just drag and drop onto ableton channels. You can search for Keith OSC or similar and you should be able to find it.
I don’t think the issues were explicitly with ableton or touch, I have a feeling that it something to do with the windows install and display drivers (suspect a cracked install?), as the entire system seems to melt down a few minutes into the ableton controlled TD set.
Gonna push for a fresh install of windows and see how they go.
Thanks for the interest gents!
