I noticed in the wiki that “up to 3 outputs can be controlled by Direct Display Out TOP”
If you are running Mosaic however, lets say with 3 displays, Windows would now consider all three heads as a single display – does the Direct Display Out TOP also consider that a single display?
If so (and budget was no question!) could I have 4 RTX cards running on a Quadro Sync II board, all operating as a single display, and use a Direct Display Out TOP to essentially drive the heads of all those graphics cards (presuming I layout my pixel map to match each head)?
Yes, although we haven’t tested it, in theory you should be able to create a single large mosaic and drive that with a Direct Display Out TOP. A single mosaic display counts as one display.
What would be workflow when having a single pc with Two GPU’s running two TD instances. (one each GPU). Normally it would be achieved with GPU affinity and setting your window comp correct. Since not using a window comp should you still set GPU affinity if both instances render different feeds.
Is the max of 3 displays a TD limitation for each instance or a driver limitation (3 displays per system)?
Yes, you’d still use GPU affinity to target the different GPUs. I’m not sure if the second GPU would require a monitor attached, it may work without it. I havn’t been able to test that case yet.
