This is more of a UI/shortcut kind of thing, but as I find my self increasingly using tables to get data, I was just thinking how nice it would be to somehow be able to quickly nab a cell from a table and ‘drop’ it on a field, i guess in the same way you would export/ref a channel.
The concept begins to open up a bigger can of worms i suppose, but just thought I’d throw it in there. I could imagine a funky system of export tables for tables or something, but I guess what I’m thinking of is just a way to automate the process of writing a table expression by dragging a cell onto a parameter field…
I was thinking about something along those lines too, I’m using table references so much these days it’d be great to have a drag and drop referencing system like with CHOPs…also fixes that whole beginner fear of expressions.
I’ve actually been thinking about adding a 2nd DAT export method, which is directly mapping a cell onto a parameter (no expression needed, would be faster than executing a Python expression). Would that be of interest to your also?
I agree automatically filling in a expression for both CHOPs and DATs would also be useful.
