Easy question: how to lag a TOP (reduce its frame rate)

Hey there, short version:
How do you stutter/delay/lag the playback of a TOP? I’ve seen it done before but I can’t remember how and I’ve been scouring the internet for info.

Discussion:
I’ve been tinkering with a generative art piece and I’m ready to render with a movie file out TOP. I’ve always noticed a difference between cooking in real time and disabling the real time flag. To explain: this piece involves lines flashing by to draw an image. I’ve been designing it with real time playback, and getting around 15 fps, but when I disable the real time flag and it stops dropping frames (it’s set to 30 fps), the lines no longer collect to form any image. I obviously want to render at full quality, without delays in movement, etc, but I need to be able to halve the frame rate of that comp TOP only.

If you need a TOP to run at a different rate, use the Time COMP to give it it’s own independent timeline to your master.

I think the cache TOP and cache select TOP is what you are looking for

I know it’s an old question, but based on @hrtlacek response, I used a cache TOP with a cache size of 1 and a LFO in pulse mode, with the frequency that I wanted, activating the cache TOP.
