Effect Following Dancer Help

Hello, I am new here and new with TD overall so apologies if the post format is incorrect or I am missing info.

I have a TOP effect I made of snowflakes (3d model) traveling in a spiraling corkscrew-like shape on repeat. It is a single effect using a particle system combined with a geometry shape. I have attached the file to this post. But basically I have it setup to get a render out and I want to be able to make it so the effect (singular) can be combined with MediaPipe to have it follow a singular dancer on stage, i.e. the swirl will “overlay” onto the dancer as they move across. I have searched some videos but I don’t know how to make it so its just one instance of the effect, larger to cover the size of the dancer follow them. This is for a ballet being put on and we are projecting live effects onto them as they dance and all we have are simple cameras (No kinect) so that is why I have been using MediaPipe. If anyone has video recommendations I can follow or tips on what to look at/for that would be great! I can also provide any more info if needed

Hi @Cozmic101,

does Mediapipe return a bounding box of a person? You could use this data to scale and position a rectangle and then utilize it as the reference (second) input of the Transform SOP to move and scale the particle system to the reference input. This can be done on the Post Page of the Transform SOP.

Slight warning: projecting onto (fast) moving bodies is always a bit tricky due to the introduces latency between camera and projector.

cheers

Thank you for your response! Yes, it has an “object” tracker that places a rectangular object over what it is currently detecting, with it only tracking 1-2 people its not too laggy so I can definitely give this a go! Thank you for the tips
