I’ve encountered an issue that I don’t quite understand. When using NOT REALTIME under load (Hog CHOP), the movie file output drops frames when encoding to compressed formats such as H.265/H.264, but it doesn’t drop a single frame when encoding to lossless Apple ProRes.
Why does this happen? Shouldn’t NOT REALTIME wait for each frame to be written regardless of the codec being used?
UPDATE: the issue can also be caused when using Apple Prores and does not need load from Hog CHOP to happen.
UPDATE #2: issue seams to go away when not recording audio onto the movie file
reliable way to cause it ON MY MACHINE TODAY is to spam recording as soon as previous one ends, and it is quite random, issue happens when in encode test mode also.
