Enttec DMX In?

I have a Enttec DMXUSB pro. The DMX Out chop seems to work well in FTDI mode, and I’ve had no problems with that. I was wondering if anyone has gotten DMX In working? I’ve had a few issues and questions:

  1. If I try to run DMX Out and DMX In at the same time, the DMX In gets an error state - “Could not connect with the Device.”
  2. If I run DMX In alone, I don’t get any errors, but I don’t get any messages from my DMX controller either.

I connected my DMX controller (via 3 pin to 5 pin adapter), turned off blackout, select the first two fixtures, and then move some of the faders. I am expecting to see some the channels on the DMX In update, but everything stays at 0. What am I missing?

I’ve successfully used the DMX->USB Pro to capture DMX, but not capture and send simultaneously, which seems like it should work. Perhaps there needs to be an adjustment to the CHOP so a single operator can do both, or enable multiple CHOPS to connect to the device simultaneously.

Have you verified the console is sending DMX, as in plugging it directly into a fixture?

If you have not re-started Touch, perhaps it’s still thinking it’s connected to the EntTec from an old operator? Try starting a clean session and just dropping a DMX in?
