Hello, I’ve been trying to save/export a video from my top movefilein from using file > export movie then i drag my movie file in op to the Top input in the exporting window. my issue its giving me an error every time i try to open the video after i save it in my desktop.
It could be from my media player I’m using but i tried using VLC media player but its almost the same. btw i tried in both format as mov and mp4, the mov worked in VLC but not the mp4. please let me know what it could be.

can you let us know what codec you choose when exporting? Any other details that help us recreating the issue are very welcome to.
Also please let us know the build of TouchDesigner.

Hey, the codec is Photo/Motion JPEG. you may check the attached pic for all the settings i used.
Thank you for the help. This was part of the Derivative 100 series course, its helpful but the exporting part didn’t really work with me and i am still trying to find a good way for exporting videos and images, also the one with chop audio…

thank you for the additional detail. I found that when opening the dialog and exporting right away, the resulting codec is actually Animation Codec instead of the displayed Photo/Motion JPEG.
A workaround is to reselect the Photo/Motion JPEG from the Codec dropdown menu.
Otherwise this will be fixed in an upcoming release.

Hey, One important thing you need to know,
I tried saving the jellybens default TD project, first in Photo/Motion JPEG and then in Animation.
Photo/Motion JPEG worked in one media player and the Animation worked in different media player. and its the same thing when i use Transform top op or moviefileout. so i am not sure what this could be.
And just in case, is there any good media player that usually td users use? or any recommendations because i searched and that’s all i have for now. thanks.

For me, the good old VLC is capable of play quite any codec, only braw doesnt play.
The last version of Kyno is playing anything, braw included. Its a fantastic catalog tool but its not free 
!
