Back after few days in the studio,
same TD version, same drivers, same settings, same everything,
obviously single movie file out instance due to RTX limitations.

My movie file out TOP with Nvidia h264 GPU codec give me that error
both with experimental and stable TD versions:

Error: Unable to open video codec (2)

never happened before, I usually record very large and h264 with GPU codec.

my setup
Windows 10
Intel i9 9900
Nvidia 2080RTX
TD latest versions (exp and stable)
Nvidia drivers 3.20.2.34
Geforce Game Ready Driver 441.66

Could you share a stripped down version of your project?

Only time I had that happen before it turns out the GPU had come unseated and TD was running off the Intel GPU. Sounds like you’ve already eliminated anything like that though.

thanks @evanpierre for the moment I’ve solved recording directly with HAP Q and then transcoding with FFMPEG.
I’m pretty suspicious about OpenCodec installation coming with PotPlayer, I’ll dig it in the future.
