EtherDream / Laser Blanking

Hello all,

I’ve been long interested in using Touch to control custom laser displays. One thing that has always been a challenge for me is how to handle the blanking (z axis) of the beam when projecting multiple shapes.

Do the RGB channels function as the blanking channels? Is anyone playing around with sending SOP data to a laser projector? Interested to seeing how well this works in practice.

Hi.
Have you tried the Scan CHOP to prepare the SOP data for the EtherDream?
The RGB channels are used as blanking (r=0,g=0,b=0) and can be controlled with the
‘Vertex Repeat’ and ‘Blanking Count’ options. (Make sure ‘Output Color’ is on).
We were able to send out some simple scenes to the device during development.

Cheers
Rob.
