eval DAT not cooking?

please have a look at this example.

nocook.toe (4.93 KB)
Open the file and the panel for the graph1 COMP
Grab any key and try to move it in time to >101 or <1

the eval1 DAT and the matchKeys script do their work and limit time to 1 - 101

now step out of the COMP to /project1/automatic and try again

now you can move keys >101 and <1
the moment you reenter the automatic COMP, they’ll snap to the 1/101 boundaries again

So the eval DAT is not cooking as it’s not displayed/not used anywhere. Any way to make it cook/work without making the eval DAT visible all the time?

pointing a DAT-execute DAT at the node worked out fine
