Experimental Build 20560 posted

Its been a while since our last experimental build, but its now ready for you to Download.

There are a ton of new features, important UI changes, and backwards compatibility issues, so please take some time to read over the Release Notes.

Some of the new feature documentation is still in progress, we’ll be finishing it up as soon as possible and updating OP Snippets and example files to show you how to get the most out of these updates.

We’ll also be back to updating this build regularly with fixes, so jump in and we’ll get your issues fixed asap. This took a while to get out to you because there were some deep changes and we wanted to get things stable before posting.
Some things we would love feedback and testing of:

  • Unicode support and text rendering in general
  • Python extensions
  • Timer CHOP
  • Table COMP
  • If anyone has an EtherDream laser setup, the EtherDream CHOP/DAT and the Scan CHOP
  • performance in general

Have a great weekend, enjoy!

Wohoo!! Congrats!!
Will there be a little extensions tutorial soon?

timer chop looks way rad.

Yes!!! Great build! 32 bit open Exr saving, adding compiled python extensions to comps, timer chop… awesome!

thank you

Yes, that and some example files are incoming.

I’ll probably do a quick video of how to use the timer CHOP in the next few days as it’s an extremely useful CHOP.

Ben am I right in thinking that right now theres no output channel for length in seconds/frames? Might be handy, saves having to select from the segment DAT.

EDIT: Nevermind I just spotted the columns to custom channels field…lovely.

Yeah! Going to try out Etherdream/Scan CHOPs this weekend!

Would be awesome to make a CamSchnappr Lite for laser projector calibration. Being just a point source, it should be even simpler, no? Think the code would adapt to not calculate an intrinsic projection matrix?
