export frame by frame

Is there a way to output / record individual frames? Id like to be able to record a series of frames of a piece versus saving a quicktime.

currently the piece i am trying to record is 4096 x 4096 and 7 minutes long. It has taken roughly 24hours to render out one minute of footage. if there is an issue, then I think I am in serious trouble if this thing runs for 6.5 days and something happens, crashes, etc…

by the way, at 1/4 resolution, this plays back in realtime 60fps…so its really a matter of resolution.

any tips?

EDIT

OK, now I see the option in the movieout top to export an image (been working too long at one shot here I think) - if i insert $F into the name it attaches the frame number to the filename.

great, but how then do I output from a network frame by frame? Is there a way to automatically go from frame to frame - otherwise I am stuck clicking the mouse about 27,000 times…

I have recorded a ton of data into a couple record chops, and I need that to affect the state of the network, so I need to control the timeline. I poked around with the time COMP, but I didnt see a way to specify a specific frame.

OK, I gotta get some sleep

You can use an Execute DAT to execute an opsave (or .save() in python) command each from on your final output node. You can do the logic to name your files in that script.

I think I did it by setting the range start and end to be the same chop channel then just attached a slider to create a scrub for a time comp…off the top of my head…maybe I didn’t…
