Hey @ben was this ever looked into? I’m noticing that if I take a rectangle SOP, extrude it, and export it as an fbx the normals of the extruded sides are incorrect on the export.
No, we didn’t get an example from @barakooda. Are the normals pointing the correct way in TouchDesigner? Just backwards on the exported geo?
Yeah, they look correct in touch, and incorrect on the export.

I think the problem is with the extrude SOP not the exporting of FBX. If you look at the pink lines in the extrude SOP viewer for the primitive normals you’ll see the two outward ones at the ends, but the extruded sides will have them pointed in, which is the same as what’s imported into cinema4d. If you zoom inside of the extruded box in TD then you can verify this. The extruded point normals look okay though.
