Exporting CHOP parameter causes crash

Processor: Intel(R) Core™ i7-10870H CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2208 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU

TD Build: 2022.28040

Crash can be reproduced following these steps:

  • Create new project
  • Delete all default OPs
  • Create one Constant CHOP
  • Duplicate the Constant CHOP
  • Export one Constant CHOP channel to the parameter of the other as “Export CHOP”
  • Crash

Crash also happens in other situations when doing Export CHOP.

This is a known issue on laptops with integrated + dedicated graphics.

Can you check your graphic driver version and either downgrade or update it to one of the versions reported as solving the issue in the following thread: Crash when i make a reference / The Vulkan Device has returned a fatal error code - #46 by hypnagogia.tv

Reverting the nvidia driver to 512.95 seems to have solved the issue. Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction. Should we expect this issue to be fixed in future builds?

Yes, we have reported the issue to Nvidia, it seems to be a regression bug in the drivers. We’ll update you when we hear of new drivers that address it.
