'Fading' a feedback loop in and out smoothly?

Hi all,

New to the forum and new to touch designer. Loving it so far but I’m currently stuck!!!

So I (attached below) I have a null set up to run off a Sin pattern. This pattern is powering a noise transformation (which I’m using to displace an image), this was done to add some “curves” type easing to the noise movement. I hope that makes sense.

So the next part is what I’m struggling with. I’m adding in this blur type effect, which I found in PPPANIK’S amazing tutorials.

Currently to reset the effect I’m using a keyboard in node on the feedback loop. However, I want the effect to fade in and out in the same manor that the noise does. So I’d like the effect to ‘fade’ in and out smoothly, ideally mapping it to the pattern that is controlling the noise transform. Is this possible? I looked into timer chops and a few other things, but the trouble is I can find a way to turn the feedback loop up and down if that makes sense.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Attached below is screen grabs of the feedback loop playing,

And then how it looks when it’s reset

You can use a Cross TOP to blend between the original image and the blurred one, and control the blend amount using the cross parameter.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking for
