Have anyone noticed that files encoded with nvidia’s HW encoder not playing audio on apple’s devices?
I’m having the audio encoded in mp3.
files are playing fine on windows and android devices.
Update:
The problem is with with ios devices, on macs you can hear the audio.
the solution is using aac codec for the audio but requires an external encoder like ffmpeg or adobe media encoder.
@malcolm is aac audio codec encoding on with moviefileout is planned anytime soon?
We are unable to add AAC encoding support anytime soon, sorry.
Just a quick mention… Ran today into the same problem - not having audio in an .mp4 format on ios devices. But, a weird workaround was - renaming the file extension from .mp4 to .mov made the ios devices play the audio!
