First project:

Let me start with a few questions:
Would it be possible to use my midi controller to control Traktor as well as TouchDesigner?
Is it possible to sync BPM from Traktor to TouchDesigner?

Now about my project.
I want a circle to light up in three positions to create an illusion of a triangle.
I would like it to gradually (or controlled if possible) to draw part of a circle before disappearing or draw a full circle.

Any help or questions would be great.

Yes, a MIDI controller could control Traktor and TouchDesigner as well. You should be able to select the same controller in both the Traktor and TouchDeisgner MIDI input menus. What kind of controller did you have in mind?

You will be able to get Traktor’s bpm through MIDI into TouchDesigner, but it will just be the bpm number, I do not know that you can sync full transport controls.

I’m an amateur DJ and I’d like to set up a projector with my buttons doing different things. I use a NuMark Mixtrack. I noticed the midi mapping in touch designer isn’t so straight forward. D:

maybe you are searching for a different kind of program a la resolume, mudol 8 or something.
Or i don’t understand you question. is it a question?

I really like building visualizations from nothing, which is why I can appreciate TouchDesigner. I’ll definitely check out the other programs you’ve listed, but I guess I don’t really have a question as much as I just need to dig more into TouchDesigner.

Finally learning how to map. I’m getting where I want to get for now. I’m super pumped.

How can I isolate a single channel in a math chop?

I’m trying to add two channels together, but the rest of my midi map is coming through and messing up the math.

Use the scope parameter in the math CHOP, or use a select CHOP beforehand to pull out the channels you want.
