I’m running Touchdesigner on Mac Silicon (M2 Max). The last couple of TD updates that I’ve run have the same bug. Essentially, when I use the “Export Movie” dialog, I am unable to change the video codec (I click on the codec dropdown, but not other options are displayed and the only option displayed is Photo/Motion JPEG).
OS is MacOS Ventura 13.5. Most recently tried Touchdesigner Build EXPERIMENTAL 2023.11220
Let me know what other information the team might need to resolve this. Otherwise, thank you for Touchdesigner!
Thanks Rob, Markus, and TD team for acting on this feedback so quickly!
Quick follow-up: Is there an estimated date for the release of that build? Alternatively, could you help me identify the latest build where this is not an issue? I need to render some projects for a presentation next week so any guidance in that area would be much appreciated
Hi @maksimilian , since you can’t go back to an earlier build if you are using 2023.11220, here’s an internal build with that fixed. It will be a couple of weeks before our next post so this should keep you moving forward.
This is for Apple Silicon Macs, if you need an Intel build let me know.
That’s Amazing Ben! Best product team ever - this is highly appreciated. Sharing some feedback as there were some issues with this build as well (in case the feedback helps with QA for the upcoming release).
The ability to choose video codecs is restored in this fix, but the ability to start exporting the new file is not functional (start button is not functional). Additionally, some of the parameters that are typically set to match the values in the transport window/dialog (i.e. where you set FPS and the number of frames in the composition) default to 0.
All that being said, I am unblocked at the moment.
Thanks for putting out a quick fix and the great communication with your team - I love TD and continue to love it after this interaction.
yes, those were the issues that I encountered with the build that Ben shared - I actually tried installing it twice to make sure. I have a video/screen grab of the behavior but can’t share it here.
have confirmed and fixed the “Start” button issue. Not on a mac myself and on pc this seems to work: but we are confirming the issue with the unset parameters.
