Release 2021.10330
“Open as Separate Window” not working for me on Window comp, I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong as this is working for me on previous releases, just does nothing when I do this now, whatever setting and monitor number I choose.

Could you please provide more details about the computer used:
- What is the GPU ?
- Are the GPU drivers up to date ?
- Is this a laptop ?
- Windows or Mac OS ?

Latest studio driver 461.4 nVidia RTX 2060 Super
Desktop PC.
I’ve just tried it on my laptop as well and it’s the same, that has a GTX 1060 GPU with latest drivers.
When you open it, do you see 2 TD icons on the task bar? Wondering if it is behind your main window?
Does this happen with an empty TD project, or a specfic file?
I can’t see it on my 2 computers.

Nothing happens or appears at all for me, and no window appears behind anything… very strange.
Any project, even if I start on the default demo network and add a window comp etc.
I can still “view” the window, which then opens it and I can drag it around etc

Could you please share a screenshot of a Monitor DAT in your network?
- Are you passing any environment variables at startup with TD?
- Do you have some VR headset plugged to your computer(s) ?
- Any chance that some bloatware got installed on the computer(s) you are using?
It is odd that it occurs on two computers.

Hi, here’s a monitor DAT.
If I have a headset attached or not makes no difference, I do have Oculus installed on my system.
I have CUDA 10.2 development toolkit installed, but the older Touchdesigner builds don’t have this problem with window comps on my computers.

- Does the OP Create Dialog appears when you double click in your network?
- Can you try to unplug one of the monitors and go into perform mode?
- Can you share a screenshot of the non-default parameters of your Window COMP ?

Yes

Perform mode works either with both screens or one screen enabled/attached.
- Can you share a screenshot of the non-default parameters of your Window COMP ?
It happens for me on any window comp with the default parameters or any other parameters.

- Can you also try to set a fixed size instead of “Automatic from Panel COMP/TOP”?

I tried those again, but still nothing happens, the first thing I did was try all the different parameters in the window comp to see if it changes anything.

Did you try this as well with “Open as separate window” instead of perform mode?
Did you try to use “Open as separate window” in an empty / new project ?
Hi, yes I’ve tried that and have tried reinstalling the 2021.10330 Touchdesigner.

We identified an issue when using the right mouse button on a Window COMP and clicking Open as a separate window.
Is it what you are referring to?
If that’s the case, does pulsing Open as a Separate Window directly in the Window COMP parameters solve the issue?

Yes, that’s my issue
Sorry I should have been clearer that it was the right click menu that I was referring to… but yes it works if I pulse the parameter in the comp parameters, which I’ve only just seen so thanks

I always used the right click option by habit and forgot you can open it there too…
Haha, funny, I never knew about the option in the RMB menu!

The RMB options are now fixed in builds 2021.10960 and later.
