FIXED: View problem in TD EXPERIMENTAL 2023.11220 version

The view panel of TD EXPERIMENTAL 2023.11220 cannot see anything on the top view, which has no problem in the 2022.35320 version.

Hi @SherryLi,

could you let us know details on your computer and what OS version is running on it?

cheers
Markus

Hi @snaut ,
I use the MacBook with the M2 chip, running macOS Sonoma 14.
TD 2022.35320 version cannot connect with my Leap Motion, and it is solved by using TD EXPERIMENTAL 2023.11220.
However, I cannot see anything in my top view in the 2023.11220 version.

Best,
Sherry

Hi @SherryLi,

thank you! Looking at it. Especially also noting the strange characters in the UI’s icons.

cheers

Hi @SherryLi,

could you try opening the attached file. Very simple test and it should just show a trillium.

thx

Hi @snaut
I can open the attached file, looks good.

Hi @SherryLi,

I think we are looking at 2 separate issues - one is the icons having all wrong symbols and secondly your black output.

Can you post here your project file or send it to support@derivative.ca mentioning this forum post?

For the icons, we are looking at what causes this.

cheers
Markus

Hi @snaut
Here is my file.

Hi @SherryLi,

thank you for sending this. I can’t replicate the issue here but can you try to switch the Line Material for a Pointsprite Material as a test? Trying to narrow down what might be causing this.

cheers
Markus

Hi @snaut
Still doesn’t work lol. I made this file on the official version of TD, And it doesn’t work when I open the file in the experimental version. Is there a possible compatibility issue with my file? Or I can download the experimental version of TD again to see if it’s a downloading issue.

Hi @SherryLi,

reinstalling it should not make a difference but please give it a try - maybe it’s as easy as that.
Is your render TOP black as well? Trying to get some more opinions on options…

thanks for your understanding
Markus

Hi @SherryLi,

so under the assumption that your renderer is empty too, this is fixed with the next upcoming release.

It was also just pointed out that you are referencing ./out in the Panel’s “Background TOP” parameter instead of the TOP called ./bg

cheers
Markus

Hi @snaut
Thank you for the reminder! Waiting for the upcoming release.

Best,
Sherry
