Adding a Video Device in TOP results in immediate crash.
I can add avoid the crash if I turn off viewers off by default and then add the operator.
Once the operator is added I can get an image by manually setting the library type to Media Foundation and resolution and refresh rate (1920 x 1080 @15hz).
Build 16270 shares a similar behavior. This build doesn’t crash outright, but fails to initialize unless the camera is set to 1920 x 1080 @15Hz
Update
39010 - changing to notch cam with the direct show library causes immediate crash.
Regarding the initial issue, still unable to reproduce it here…
In the device list, on your end, is the C920 the first device in the list ?
What I notice on my end is that the C920 fails to initialize in any signal format at 30hz other than the default 640x480… (in 30k) w/ DirectShow… while MediaFoundation 1080p @ 30hz works. I logged an issue for a developer to look into this one.
I don’t have another USB camera to try with so I will ask someone on the team to give it a try.
My theory would be that it’s the first device in your list, and it attempts to initialize but fails, and brings TD down while failing…
When you have the TOP viewer display turned off by default, what are the default settings on your end ? 1080p @ 30hz or something else ?
If you don’t have the NewTek NDI tools installed, like in my screenshot… if you install them and get the device list to change (and possibly have the NDI cam showing up at the top), are you able to add the Video Device In TOP without crash?
Do you have G Hub (logitech software) installed? What is the software version? Is the camera firmware the same as mine ?
If I disable this device in windows then start touch, this camera doesn’t show up to TouchDesigner, and even though I fail to initialize - I don’t crash.
